AutoCAD plugin for section steel drawing and properties calculation - Structural Steel Tools

Do you still check the manual for section steel dimensions and properties? Do you still use galleries or even manual drawing to draw various sections for your structure design? You don't know the Chinese standard section steel specification and performance? All these problems can be solved by using a free AutoCAD plug-in.

1. Hot rolled and cold formed section steel Drawing and View

Command: HXG

Functions:

(1) View the detailing dimensions and properties of various section steels in accordance with Chinese standard, European standard, British standard and American standard;

(2) Draw the sectional view, top view and side view of section steel of the above countries, and write the name of them;

(3) The drawing layer can be assigned independently;

2. Build-up section drawing and properties calculation

Command: HZG

Functions:

(1) Cross section characteristics of user-defined sections can be calculated. Currently, I-shaped steel, round pipe and square steel pipe can be welded;

(2) Section view, side view and top view can be drawn and its names can be written;

(3) The drawing layer can be assigned independently;

3. How to install the plugin?

Step 1: Download and install the Microsoft VBA Module for your AutoCAD

This plugin need the support of VBA module, so download the VBA module from 

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/downloads/content/download-the-microsoft-vba-module-for-autocad.html?us_oa=akn-us&us_si=15b8de38-7f6d-427a-89cf-e9a6760de8a2&us_st=vba and and install it as the instruction showed on this page.

Step 2：Contact us to get the package of this plugin. 

Step 3：Unzip the file and copy the document "YLPtool" to the location of your choice.

Step 4: Start AutoCAD, use command "AP", then add YLPTools.vlx and YLPTools.dvb to the Startup Suite as below steps.

Step 5: Re-start AutoCAD, if the tool bars of the plugin is showed, then this plugin is installed correctly.

Step 6: Clip the key icon of the tool bar, copy the ID and register code (Contact us) to the related place, then clip "确定”（as showed in below picture).

OK, you can use the plugin now.
